We are always on the look up for new members, including students, research partners or sponsors, who are excited about conducting or supporting research activities regarding tropical medicine and disease ecology in Panama. We have assembled a consortium of academic institutions and local health organizations, including the Institute for Scientific Investigations and High Technology Services (INDICASAT AIP), the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI), the University of Panama (UP) and the Panamanian Ministry of Health (MINSA) as the leading institutions.Our agenda will cover research efforts oriented towards the field monitoring and ecological understanding of highly pathogenic disease agents, the animal hosts that act as reservoirs and the arthropods that vector these diseases in both natural and anthropogenic environments of Panama.
